Anyone who picks up a shaving brush in the morning knows very little about the complex manufacturing processes which lead to the finished industrial product. Our staff must possess this knowledge in order to produce large quantities in constantly high quality while meeting exact delivery deadlines. Every year, approx. 1.5 million brushes set off on their journey to countries all over the globe, with the majority being manufactured mechanically. Senior managing director Hans-Jürgen Müller developed the system himself in collaboration with a mechanical engineering company. “Emma”, MÜHLE’s youngest machine in the production hall, tirelessly fabricates up to 7,000 brush heads a day. Thanks to the sophisticated technology used, it can separate and bundle the bristles and the badger hair with great precision. The hairs are then glued into place. Another machine combs out surplus hair and slightly trims the shape. The insertion of the brush head into a handle, and the printing and packaging of the products are then the work of skilful, nimble fingers. The forms for the handles come from selected suppliers who implement our designs accordingly. The workpieces made of wood, high-grade synthetic resin or metal are worked using CNC technology, a process similar to turning.
