The high design standards of the MÜHLE brand are not only reflected in the world-renowned design quality of our products, but are also expressed in our company's membership in the German Design Council.

Founded over 60 years ago, this institution is one of the world's leading centers of expertise on design.

It supports up-and-coming German designers, advises companies with respect to product design and brings designers and industry together.

The German Design Award competition held by the Council is one of the most prestigious design competitions in the world.

Today, more than 200 design-oriented German companies are organised in the Council and employ a total of more than two million people.

Designing shaving culture

Accessories for the wet shave are cultural assets which are steeped in history and heading for the future. MÜHLE is helping to shape this trend with design-orientated collections which delight both tradition-conscious wet shavers and younger target groups.

The classics

The unmistakable MÜHLE design results from the union of consummate form and immaculate finishing. Its role models date back as far as the courts of the French nobility.

In our CLASSIC series we have adopted the traditional design principles with their typical, gently rounded forms and developed them further in terms of quality and ergonomics.

Special materials are employed to enlarge upon the idea of the wet shave, resulting in the recreation of popular classics such as the safety razor with chrome-plating and fine chasing or shaving brushes with rose gold handles, all to the quality standards of the future. 

We cannot formally improve on traditional accessories such as shaving bowls and mugs, but we compile selections of beautiful models with a look and feel, which are state of the art.

For lovers of historical models we are also happy to look back from time to time: Special series such as our "retro brushes" modeled on a MÜHLE classic from the 1950s have now become genuine collector's items.

Incidentally, whether a passionate wet shaver opts for the classic or the modern is not a question of age. The revival of the straight razor is a case in point.

The almost archaic ritual is now being celebrated again, but today's wet shavers prefer the far edgier carbon steel to the sharpened blade of former times.

Departing from traditional forms and finding new designs for brushes and razors has been one of our greatest challenges.

We have also further developed the safety razor with a new, functional design and precision mechanics. When it comes to shaving systems, we are unbiased. It's up to the individual whether he chooses a solo model or a multi-blade system. We'll let you know in good time when to expect the first MÜHLE blade.
