Beard Trends 2025

The latest beard styles and how to care for them

Whether you prefer a clean-shaven look or appreciate the charm of light stubble, 2025 is all about effortless, natural beard care with minimal effort and maximum impact. Defined contours, well-maintained skin, and a simple grooming routine are at the heart of this year’s trends.

We spoke to experienced barber Thomas Walther to find out which styles are in and which he personally prefers:

"2025 will be all about a relaxed yet well-groomed look. I expect the clean-shaven style to regain popularity – ideal for those who appreciate a fresh, minimalist aesthetic. For those who prefer a little more texture, the stubble look remains a classic: a natural yet well-maintained shadow that requires little upkeep. And for those who like to stand out, the beardstache offers a striking yet easy-to-maintain option."

Look No. 1 | Clean-shaven

A timeless look that never goes out of style. A well shaved face exudes refinement and is perfect for a minimalist aesthetic.

How to achieve and maintain this look

A thorough shave starts with proper preparation. Warm water and a gentle cleanser help to soften facial hair and prevent irritation. Applying a high-quality shaving creamor soap with a shaving brush further enhances the experience, ensuring a close and comfortable shave. Take at least 2-3 minutes to work the lather in, allowing the hair to soften fully.

Always use sharp, high-quality blades and shave in the direction of hair growth to minimise irritation and the risk of ingrown hairs. After shaving, a moisturising aftershave balm helps to soothe the skin and provide essential hydration. For more expert shaving tips, including how to use a safety razor, visit our Shaving Guide.

Look No. 2 | The Stubble Look

A laid-back yet stylish choice, the stubble look sits between a clean shave and a full beard. It creates a distinctive, masculine appearance with minimal effort.

How to achieve and maintain this look

Let your beard grow for a few days until you reach the desired length. Use a trimmer to keep the hair evenly trimmed to a consistent length. Regularly defining the edges and keeping the neckline tidy ensures a well-groomed look. To avoid an unflattering double-chin effect, the neckline should sit just above the Adam’s apple. Using a transparent shaving gel allows you to see the contour clearly while ensuring a smooth shave. A specially formulated stubble balm can help reduce itchiness, keep the skin hydrated, and maintain a soft, healthy beard texture.

Look No. 3 | The Beard-Stache

Thanks to the #Movember movement, the moustache has made a serious comeback. Every November, men worldwide grow a moustache to raise awareness for men’s health. Many have since embraced the beardstache, a style that combines the best of both worlds – a well-groomed moustache and light stubble. It’s the perfect choice for those who want a bold yet low-maintenance look.

How to achieve and maintain this look

Allow your beard to grow and trim it evenly while keeping the moustache significantly longer. The length of the moustache can vary – for a more dramatic contrast, use beard wax to give it extra definition and hold. To maintain a polished look, trim any stray hairs regularly. A beard comb and trimming scissors are essential for keeping the moustache in shape. As with all bearded styles, a neat neckline enhances the overall appearance.

Timeless Sophistication – The Well-Groomed Full Beard

Trends come and go, but Thomas Walther (photo) has a deep appreciation for the full beard.

"More than just facial hair, a full beard is a statement. Whether neatly trimmed, bold and rugged, or carefully sculpted, it reflects character and individuality. A well-maintained full beard symbolises maturity, strength, and style."

How to achieve and maintain this look

A full beard requires dedication: regular trimming, brushing, and the right beard oil or balm are essential for a healthy, well-groomed appearance. A beard brush helps distribute products evenly, ensuring a soft, manageable beard.

Expert tip: Keep the sides slightly tapered to achieve a balanced shape and prevent the beard from looking too wide. Define the neckline for a clean finish. Once the beard grows long enough to fully cover the chin, there’s no need for further neckline trimming – this creates a fuller, more voluminous effect. However, regular maintenance remains key, particularly for the moustache, which should always be trimmed to prevent it from covering the lips.

Whatever your style, regular maintenance and the right techniques make all the difference. The beard trends of 2025 embrace effortless grooming with maximum impact. For those opting for a classic full beard, a little extra care and a professional touch can work wonders. Which look suits you best?
