Every October, more than one hundred workshops, museums, and associations open their doors for one weekend to celebrate the Day of Traditional Craftsmanship in the Erzgebirge region. MÜHLE Shaving Culture in Stützengrün is participating once again and invites you on October 18, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM, to experience the world of wet shaving and craftsmanship firsthand.
From wood turners to shaving brush makers - here in the Ore Mountains you can get a taste of real workshop air and experience authentic traditional craftsmanship in all its diversity. Gain exciting insights into sustainable production and the precision craftsmanship behind our shaving brushes and razors. Hands-on activities and exciting guided tours make the day an unforgettable experience for the whole family.
Guided Tours of the MÜHLE Manufactory
During guided tours of our factory, visitors can discover how our high-quality shaving brushes and razors are made. For more than 80 years, MÜHLE has stood for precision and craftsmanship. Experience what makes our products so special worldwide and be impressed by the dedication and quality that goes into each of our items.
Living craftsmanship and barbershop at the MÜHLE Museum
In addition to brush making, visitors can also experience two brush makers at work on this day. We are delighted that Spezialbürsten Hochmuth and Miniaturbürsten Schreiter have accepted our invitation to showcase their products and how they are made.
A real highlight is the traditional barbershop at the MÜHLE Museum – a lovingly designed space reminiscent of a historical salon, displaying unique treasures of classic wet shaving culture. Visitors are invited to place themselves in the skilled hands of experienced barber and hairdresser Thomas Walther, learn more about beard care, and experience the charm of bygone shaving rituals up close.
Children’s activities, factory outlet and regional delights
While the adults explore the manufactory, a bouncy castle and creative craft activities will keep the little ones entertained. In the factory outlet, you can benefit from expert advice and discover the full variety of the MÜHLE range. And of course, there will be plenty to enjoy on the culinary side – look forward to tasty treats from the grill, homemade cakes and refreshing Ybnstoker craft beer.
