Overhauling our packaging is an ongoing process. We have to take into account a wide variety of components and weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of different materials.
So, we’re happy about every new solution we find. This is also true of the packaging of our high-quality brushes from the MÜHLE design series SOPHIST, PURIST, KOSMO and STYLO. These products are now placed on velour cardboard to protect the handcrafted handles. The advantage of this is that the FSC-certified cardboard with its lining made of pure cellulose is 100 percent biodegradable. The entire outer packaging can therefore be disposed of and recycled in waste paper containers.
Effective immediately, our classic razor blades will also be sold in single-origin packaging made of paper and cardboard. For many of our customers, the previous outer packaging in foil-sealed plastic cartridges was clearly at odds with the low-waste benefits of a MÜHLE safety razor. Thanks to this innovation, not only the blades made of pure stainless steel, but also the complete outer packaging can now be disposed of in a single category.
We have already implemented many things in the sustainability department. We’re proud of this, but greater efforts and more ideas are needed in order to conserve the world’s resources and to preserve our planet as a place worth living in for future generations.
