MÜHLE and World Vision:
Thank you for your support

Together for the reforestation project in Uganda

When MÜHLE celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2025, we wanted to mark this special occasion not only by looking back at our own history. Together with our customers and business partners, we wanted to make a difference and support a project that creates long-term prospects for both people and nature.

We chose to support World Vision’s FMNR initiative in Uganda. Since then, many of you have joined us in supporting the project, either by donating through our campaign page or as part of an order. Today, above all, we would like to say: Thank you!

How FMNR works

We can now see the impact the initiative is having on the ground. FMNR (“Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration”) uses the existing root systems of felled trees to help landscapes regenerate naturally. Farmers are empowered to drive this regeneration themselves and share their knowledge within their communities.

When we launched our fundraising campaign, we explained in more detail why we chose to support this project and how the FMNR method works in our blog post marking MÜHLE’s 80th anniversary. In 30 GRAD Magazine, MÜHLE Managing Director Andreas Müller also spoke about his personal connection to World Vision and the motivation behind our commitment.

The initiative in Uganda is making an impact

World Vision’s latest progress report shows how successfully the initiative is developing. To date, 266,403 hectares of land have been regenerated.¹

In addition, 4,021 FMNR trainers have been trained.¹ It is particularly encouraging to see the method spreading beyond the immediate project areas and being adopted independently by communities. World Vision has now integrated FMNR into all of its programme areas in Uganda, indirectly reaching around 150,000 sponsored children as well as their families and communities.¹

We are particularly pleased to see this development. Because lasting impact is created when knowledge is shared and positive change can continue independently.

Thank you for your support

At the end of September 2026, our joint fundraising campaign with World Vision will come to a close. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who took part and supported the project together with us.

The FMNR initiative continues. If you would like to keep supporting the project, you can find further information and the opportunity to donate independently of MÜHLE on the World Vision project page.

Our commitment continues

Although this fundraising campaign is coming to an end, our commitment to protecting nature and the environment continues. In future, we will once again turn our attention closer to home and support a regional reforestation project in the Ore Mountains together with Bergwaldprojekt.

We will be sharing more about this soon here on the MÜHLE Blog.
