Shaving culture in the third generation

A bearded history

A simple laundry room for producing the brushes. A time of privation with little or no alternatives. But a lot of courage, which continues to be the hallmark of our family business in its third generation until this day. When company founder Otto Johannes Müller produced the first shaving brush under the MÜHLE brand in 1945, this was done exclusively by hand. We have preserved this craftsmanship and now combine it with modern technology where it supports our tradition.

Growth in the Ore Mountains

Starting life as a small manufacturer of shaving brushes, we have developed into one of the world’s leading suppliers of high-quality accessories for wet shaving. Yet each time we look out of the window, we’re reminded of our roots in the heart of the Ore Mountains – the wooded hills around Stützengrün have accompanied the MÜHLE brand since the outset and are part of who we are.

Living traditions

The long tradition of the brush-making trade in the region, the expertise passed on from generation to generation, and above all the sensitivity of the people living here show us day by day that our company is at home in the Ore Mountains. With our 75 employees, we work together like friends and swear by flat hierarchies.

From Stützengrün into the world

At the same time, we see ourselves as a cosmopolitan brand with the highest standards and firmly believe that we don’t have to hide our light under a bushel.

That’s why we don’t, but show our true colours – at our MÜHLE Store Berlin in the Hackesche Höfe and at our MÜHLE Store London in Carnaby, just a stone’s throw from Piccadilly Circus.
