The classic, archetypal form of the SOPHIST design series is reminiscent of times long past and is our personal tribute to the origins of shaving culture. Sophisticated in the truest sense of the word, the range is cultivated, elegant and ambitious in equal measure.
We at MÜHLE are also ambitious. And so it was time to further develop this design classic. From now on, the voluminous SOPHIST brush heads can be unscrewed. As with many other series in the MÜHLE collection, the brush head can now be replaced if necessary and the high-quality handles made of porcelain, ironwood or high-grade resin can be reused without a hitch. This saves resources and makes the brush a long-lasting and loyal companion. Each handcrafted model bears the manufactory's engraved logo on the chromed base. Our best hair quality Silvertip Fibre® is the icing on the cake of this mature product with character.
Silvertip Fibre® - now even more sustainable
The long-lasting synthetic fibre Silvertip Fibre® is a global innovation and our proof that art is capable of surpassing nature. The synthetically produced brush hairs in premium quality are particularly easy to care for, dry quickly and are suitable for vegans. The fibres are processed by hand and are particularly soft at the tip. At the same time, the lower part of the fibre is firmer and provides sufficient backbone for a pleasant massage effect, even when wet.
But that's not all. In the interests of sustainability, we are now using a plant-based fibre for the blend of our premium brush fibres. This eco-efficient fibre consists of 37% renewable, plant-based raw materials. The revolutionary polymer impresses with its durability, flexibility and high volume. At the same time, its production requires 30% less energy and produces 63% fewer greenhouse gases than the production of conventional synthetic fibres.
No fear of hair loss
Even with the best care, a shaving brush can lose some of its hair after many years of intensive use. This makes it all the more pleasing that with the SOPHIST series, almost all MÜHLE design series are now available with replaceable brush heads.
